Budget Reading: How to Read without Spending a Fortune

Want to read more books but don’t want to spend a fortune? You’ve come to the right place!

Here are three of my tried & true ways of reading on a budget:

LIBRARY CARDS:

A library card costs $0, and your local library is filled to the rafters with books just waiting for someone to take them home. You will find books from every genre you can think of in all formats: eBooks, kindle downloads, & physical books. All these options are available to anyone who has a library card. Signing up is easy! Search for the library closest to you & give them a call or stop by for a visit. Most librarians want to spread their joy of reading & will be eager to help!

BOOK SWAPS:

What’s a book swap you ask? Bring a book, swap a book! It's that simple! Whether you are the host or a participant this is a time for neighbors, friends, or relatives to gather & exchange books. What a great way to spend an afternoon or evening, & chances are there will be a book that will peak your interest.

BOOKISH RAFFLES:

Who doesn't like a raffle? Did you know that there are book raffles for all kinds of genres? You can find them on Bookstagram, Goodreads, and from individual publishers just to name a few. Enter as many book raffles as possible!

Here's a link to a recent raffle on Goodreads which I just entered:

Stay tuned for more “reading on a budget” tips & tricks. I have a lot more up my sleeve!
